Appointments
Sessions are conducted virtually only (no in-person sessions at this time) for those residing in Indiana and by appointment only. The time for your appointment is reserved exclusively for you and cannot be given to someone else, so please make every possible effort to keep your appointment. Please contact me if you do to need make any changes to your appointment.
- Appointments can be a single session, a few sessions, or ongoing as needed.
- If you get voicemail when you call, please leave a message. All calls, emails, text messages, and contact form inquiries will be answered as soon as possible throughout the week.
- When I am unavailable for an extended time, specific coverage arrangements will be explained on the website and/or voicemail
- If you cannot wait for my return call or in case of an emergency, please contact your local hospital, the crisis unit of your local mental health center, call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK(8255), call 211 for resources, or call 911 in a medical emergency.
Rates
Please contact me in order to see if my services will be a good fit for all parties and for any additional rate information.
My rates are very competitive to those in the Indianapolis and surrounding areas at $40 a session, which is comparable to an insurance copay fee (see Good Faith Estimate disclosure).
I want to be an available resource to as many as realistically possible therefore, sliding scale fees are available for those who are not able to afford the full fee.
Payment
Payment is due at the time of services. All major credit cards accepted for payment. Starting Point is not able to accept any type of health insurance, Medicaid, HIP, or Medicare.
Insurance Not Accepted
Starting Point is not able to accept any type of health insurance, Medicaid, HIP, or Medicare.
- Why not?
- It allows lower rates, including sliding scale, while offering the same level professional services.
- With insurance, claims require a mental illness diagnosis that is added to the client's medical record and not everyone who seeks services suffer from a mental illness.
- Insurance companies can request progress reports of sessions which limits confidentiality.
- Insurance companies limit the number of sessions allowable that they will cover.
